How can I integrate my contacts to make sure there are no duplicates?

I am using a program called Seamless to collect emails. I tried to upload them and then merge them, but a lot of contacts could not merge because the company names were spelled slightly different (for example some had Inc. on them), so there were a lot of duplicates.

Is there any way to work around this so that I don’t have to manually go through thousands of contacts to make sure they aren’t duplicated? Or so I don’t have to manually check to make sure all the company names are spelled the same?

I find it’s easier to correct these types of error in excel before uploading, you can use find and replace or simply sort a-z and then drag down the autofill as far as is necessary.
