Can Custom Statistics add more than one column

Want to have the total sum of two different columns and add it to my dashboard. I can see how to add individual columns but I want to have the sum of two columns. Is there a way?

Create custom saved searches and save the searches with names you’ll be able to identify that have the columns you need sums for. Then with the custom widget, select the sum of the columns from those reports.

Thanks for the reply @John_Borelli. I guess I didn’t explain myself well-enough on the question.

I know how to create a total for a column. Rather, I want to combine the contents of two columns (or more) and provide one single total for them.
