Best practices around unsubscribes or opt outs. To delete or not?

What are you thoughts around best practices for those who unsubscribe or opt out. Is it best to delete the contact completely or not? Reasons? Thank you!

The only reason I’d keep them in the database is if you are actively calling them and they have a phone number, if they have order data in their records and you need historical info related to purchases, or if you need historical info on leads in general (total leads, total active, total unsubscribes, etc.).

If you don’t need any of that, I’d export them, then delete them (I always like to have a copy of stuff I get rid of).
