Adding Columns To A Report

One of our main needs is the ability to see, with detail, what project and customer moved from one stage to another and what the specific value was and is. So instead of just seeing that ‘something’ moved from what we call “Admiring” to “Engaged”, I want to see what the opportunity name is and what the dollar value is (and ideally the change in dollar value in the forecast).
The Pipeline Report does not have the additional columns to add so its almost useless to us. The Opportunity Report has plenty of detail but is lacking the movement detail. Can we not create a custom report that would allow us to see the info from the Pipeline report on the Opportunity Report?
